Quittance is a Mac application for clinical documentation that runs entirely on your own Mac. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information.
Quittance does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or client data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Everything you enter stays on your device.
All client records, session recordings, transcripts, notes, treatment plans, forms, and attachments are stored in an encrypted vault on your Mac. This information is never sent to us or to any third party. We have no server that receives it and no ability to access it.
The only time Quittance uses the internet is to download the on-device language model the first time you set it up. That download requests a model file from our file host and transmits no personal information, no client data, and no identifying details about you. After the model is downloaded, all transcription and note generation happen offline. No session content ever leaves your Mac.
If you buy the unlock, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Quittance never sees your payment details. We receive only the standard, anonymized sales reporting Apple provides to all developers.
Because your data lives on your Mac, protecting it is part of your own security practices — a login password, FileVault, and Quittance's built-in app lock all help. Quittance supports HIPAA-aligned safeguards; it does not by itself make any practice compliant, and it is not a substitute for your professional and legal obligations.
Quittance is a professional tool intended for licensed clinicians and is not directed to children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
